Monday, 21 August 2006: SHADOW OF THE SERPENT author David Ashton will be in conversation with leading Scottish actor Brian Cox – renowned for his role as Inspector McLevy in the BBC Radio 4 series, also written by David. A rare chance to quiz the author and the actor behind this great Edinburgh detective, whose own writings almost certainly influenced the young Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The event will be chaired by Professor Willie Maley, Glasgow University and takes place at 7:00 PM in the Freemasons Hall, 96 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 3DH.
